I have a little something up at SFist, if you’re interested.
Otherwise, not much to report. Been online a lot today, researching stretch mark creams and oils. Not that I’ve seen any stretch marks, yet…
Most everything I’ve read up to this point on websites and in books has claimed that the dreaded marks are purely genetic, that no amount of ointment would make any difference, except to ease the itching.
Up to now, I’ve been sporadically applying a belly salve that I bought at Whole Foods. But this morning, I read some rave reviews on babycenter.com about various creams and have narrowed it down to one brand I might try that doesn’t use parabens or other scary chemicals. But I want to make sure I like the smell before I buy it. So I’ll probably be heading over to A Pea in the Pod in San Francisco, sometime this week, to check out the testers there.
This stuff also looks pretty yummy too. And this stuff — but I’m waiting to hear back from them about the ingredients. (Update: Belly Smooches does use both fragrances and parabens. Sigh.)
How to decide? I’m such a sucker for promises in a jar or bottle.
(Update #2: I called the Mama Mio folks and asked if they could send me a sample of the fragrance because I’m too lazy to go all the way to San Francisco just to smell the stuff in order to know if I want to order it online — with my birthday gift certificate at Amazon. MM is sending me a free sample of the actual CREAM! Hooray. And a coupon. And not because I’m a blogger or anything. You can call them too.)
Also looking at different baby knitting books. Gonna knit me a baby. Yessir.
