Or rather, we did last night, and we WILL be again, as soon as Jonah wakes up from his morning nap.
Never wake a sleeping baby, even when you’ve paid $300 to attend a three-day conference (plus $50 extra for the onsite childcare you probably won’t use) and the only part you are REALLY interested in starts in an hour.
Last night I attended the various newbie parties, child-free since they were after Jonah’s bedtime — though I was impressed to see a number of newborns and even one seven-month-old being worn and strollered from one shindig to another. I picked up the swag bag (cool!) and traded business cards with a few people, whom I shall add and link to at the bottom of the post later tonight, after I finish writing this, wake the boy, dress him, and fly out the door…
Other things that happened: I ran into an old friend and so had a wing-woman for accosting other newbies (newcomers to this annual event). Someone spilled a drink all down my back. I hugged two women (Playgroups Are No Place for Children, Oh the Joys) who have previously read and commented on my blog, who are just as pretty as their bio photos and just as nice as you’d expect, and whose readerships are waaaaaay bigger than mine. I also met and hugged Poot and Cubby, because, have you read her blog? Wouldn’t you?
I saw, and was too intimidated to say hello to two fameuse bloggers, Bossy, and Queen of Spain.
I haven’t been around so many people, all talking at once like that, in, I can’t remember. When I came home and fell into bed, my body was still reverberating.
I’m so jealous! It sounds like such a great time!

Have fun at blogher! I just read through Poot and Cubby’s “greatest hits” and would wrap my arms around her right quick if I was in SF. Also if you see Heather Armstrong (dooce) be sure to do as I would…turn red and walk away quickly out of total embarrassment that she might even ever talk to you:)
eva’s last blog post..Uh Oh
OMG, you’re so sweet! I loved meeting you and the little man. You’ve been added to my reader. It occurs to me I owe you notes on the photography session – I’ll send them soon.
