Went back to prenatal swim class again today. In fact, I joined the Y for the summer to take these classes. So this is my current exercise regime: Swim on Mondays and Fridays, Pilates on Wednesdays, prenatal yoga on Thursdays.
I still haven’t busted out those exercise DVDs I bought. I have to watch them though, at least once. Or not.
Tonight’s question for the circle was: What’s your favorite snack?
Trader Joe’s peanut-butter-filled pretzels was a popular choice. Did no one else read what I did about avoiding peanuts in pregnancy to help your kid not have peanut allergies? Not that this is hard for me anyway. I’m not a big peanut fan to begin with.
I was glad to hear that the cheese and carb-substrate combo was also a popular choice. Go cheesy-toast!
If it is true that the child will crave what the momma ate, this baby is going to be a character straight out of Wallace and Gromit. Cheeeeeeeeeeeese.
It will also likely be fond of Mexican, New Mexican, and Ethiopian food, and prefer lemonade over all other beverages.
Spaghetti.
Pretty much all I ate. Spaghetti… with jalapeños in the sauce.
For the record, I’ve always loved Spaghetti, but, never peppers. Blech. Truth be told, I munched on so much spaghetti while pregnant, I went over a year without cooking it.
Of course, my son (now 4) LOVES it, it’s his favorite food. He likes spicy stuff, too, but, I rarely indulge him. I just can’t. 😉
Oh, and it was definitely a snack. Lunch dinner or snack… it was all the same. 😉
Ice. I cracked a lot of ice. Probably messed up my enamel permanently but I was obsessed with eating ice. My mother remembered (after 35+ years) that she had done the same during her pregnancy. No ice eating since.
I cannot remember what I ate when pregnant, otherwise. Can’t remember what I craved. My kids love carbs (one pasta, the other rice & beans) and fruit and yogurt. (or one of them likes yogurt. Or one likes plain and one likes sweetened. I can’t keep them straight. Only one of them currently eats tabbouli but I’m sure they’ll switch this just when I get used to it).
We ate Ethiopian at Cafe Colucci the night we entered the hospital when #1 was induced. Seems a weird choice but that’s what I really wanted…
love the blog!
My kid’s favorite food is cheese. It was one of his first words . . . totally funny how he calls for it.
