Yesterday, I tried to keep a log of Jonah’s day, in case there was something to be gleaned from his patterns.
But asking a sleep deprived mom to keep track of anything is a dicey proposition. If only we had a secretary.
His day looked something like this; starting with the night before — and with activities organized into paragraphs roughly by hour and the whole thing only rather loosely accurate:
nurse burp cry fart poop cry nurse fall asleep burp
cry scream hyperventillate wet diaper keep crying
nap
nap
nap
nap
wet diaper nurse burp nurse nap fart
nap
nap
nurse burp poop fuss diaper change (without crying!) melt down
wet diaper wet diaper
nurse burp nap nurse nap

melt down (2 diaper changes) nurse nap burp nurse burp nap

nurse… and so on into this morning.
(There must have been some more burps and diapers in there, I think.)
Ah well. Onward…
Yup, sounds about right.
Trust me. They get much more interesting as the months go by, and things get a little less redundant – especially once they start crawling and generally becoming a little more independent. My littlest is sick, and I have to add suctioning, nose wiping, baby vicks rubbing, and MUCH more holding to my routine. Other than the gastric problems, he sounds fairly healthy. Hang in there.
