i win

In the contest between who is sicker today, me with my apparent food poisoning or stomach flu, and Scott with his terrible cold, I win. Yay, me.

I was looking forward to posting more about toys and books for 4-year-olds. Am in the middle of an email conversation with Heather @ unwritten blog and when I get the energy to complete it (Hi Heather!) I will also share the fruits with you.

General topics being —

What toys and books in your house are the hits, and which ones are the duds?

Are there any that get a second wind of playtime after a long hiatus?

Dear readers, please share your experience on this topic! My wish list needs your help.

Thank you.

I am so sorry you’re sick. I hope you feel better soon.

In my house the boys go through cycles, almost everything they have gets a second/third/fourth chance. They will play with XYZ (trains, tinker toys, legos, cars)then get tired of them and leave them for a few weeks, then they come back to them. Sometimes it’s longer, it just depends on what new thing (refound) has captured there attention.

Some of there favorite things are legos, hotwheels, board games and monster trucks. They play with these all the time. Things they keep coming back to are tinker toys and trains. That pretty much sums up all the toys that my boys have.

This year I plan on buying them lincoln logs, they don’t have any yet and they really enjoy building things.

My boys each have a book case full of books. They love them all. One of the favorite is Herbert the Timid Dragon (it was mine when I was little) another one is The Day the Babies Crawled away.

    Good luck and Happy shopping.

Hi! Glad I could add some information to your list. I will be interested to see what things you come up with that are hits with people as our list right now consists of nothing. :-)
