carnivores, haircut

Things seem to be back to normal around here, so, as I was saying…

* * *

Food for thought:

Over a lunch of Moroccan lamb sausages, beef/rice/allspice/raisin stuffing, and salad today, Scott asks: “Do you think it would have worked out between us if I had been a vegetarian?”

* * *

Can a haircut make you a better person? We three were all invigorated by ours yesterday.

Scott went first while I entertained the boy with this awesome book, thoughtfully provided by my hairdresser:

Then I sat down in the chair to show Maggie my not-so-handiwork. She said something to the effect of Oh Yes We Need To Fix This and then ten minutes of haircut kung fu ensued where she wielded scissors and I wielded baby. He actually held still for say 50% of the cuts. The rest of the time I was holding him up so that he could swing his legs and arms without causing too much vibration to his head/collateral damage. I’m sure she was being careful but those scissors looked awfully pointy and close to my face, so I have a self-preservation leaning-back thing going on in some of the photos.

The boy doesn’t look much different, but to my eye, there is great improvement.

    Hee hee!

    THAT was actually before I got mine cut. It’s a good style that lasts long — I don’t have to do anything to it. Not that I wouldn’t look nicer if I did. Ahem.

    I did look even better my cut and styling, but of course we’d put the camera away by then.

    Funny too that I’m grooving on my natural hair color. I’ve been coloring my hair for so long — blond highlights, dark brown lowlights, occasional streaks or washes of red.

    I’m not even minding the gray, yet…

    Hee hee II, I realized your natural hair, long, looks like mine when I was younger – dark and wavy – and it makes you look like me… I’d been noticing our family resemblance lately. So I’m just prejudiced in favor of certain hairstyles, ’cause I’m unconsciously vain.

    Love the carnivore comment. I cook a lot of vegetarian these days but I don’t think I could have married a guy who only wanted vegetarian meals. Boring. Scott is a lucky man – I’ve eaten your carnivore meals, you are a fabulous cook.
