I don’t get sick very often.
I was just going to say that, Scott said.
My nose is running. I have chills. Is this what comes from being around so many people? Probably. I don’t get sick very often. I don’t think I’ve been sick with a baby yet. This will be challenging?
Can I take a night off from pumping? I’m too tired to pump. And lately I’ve just been filling up the freezer with little baggies (2-4 oz) since I haven’t had much work these last few weeks, and when I did, I managed to nurse in between.
Does milk production go down when you have a cold? Even if you don’t take decongestant? I’ll have to ask Moxie or Kellymom about this.

Jonah’s latest firsts:
1. Gravity. He’s clearly testing to see if it works. Cue crashing sounds.
2. Biting. The first time it happened, I was sitting in one of the conference panels next to a mom of a 7-1/2 month old herself. I made THAT SOUND. I’d never made that sound before. A very specific gasp. My new friend knew immediately what had happened. (Up to just two days ago, he’d been a lover, not a biter.)
3. Solid food from a jar. Color me convenient. It worked well for the childcare at the conference. He likes it just fine, thank you. Although I have to say it was still fun at breakfast this morning with my friend visiting from England to whip out the mesh feeder, stuff it with avocado slices, and let Jonah go to town while we ate. She was EXTREMELY impressed and claimed that the first person to export that item to England will make a fortune. Yes, I had her bring me more Ashton and Parsons.
4. Second tooth. Popping up right next to the first, one slightly shorter than the other, neither much more than peeking (painfully, per #2) above the gum line.
Between Flanny and me we’ve had at least ten head colds since his birth. Doesn’t affect milk production. I sure would like a decongestant, though.
I didn’t know you were pumping every night. Wow, you are working hard! I haven’t pumped at night since late April. Definitely take a night off.

I remember my first trip to Europe (I was lucky enough to go when I was only 15 after a whole year of fundraising efforts). On the plane trip back I had my first toblerone. I know that you can buy them in the states now, but at the time it seems like such an exotic treat.
Everything that comes from ‘abroad’ just seems so much better.

I can’t imagine all that pumping – good for you! We’re trying to get Megan to take formula sometimes because I’m just too busy (reading books & blogs, baking, you know, BUSY) to pump.
There’s definitely good times and places for those cutesy jars of food – and you can feel virtuous by buying organic and recycling/reusing the jars. I like to take a re-used jar and loudly let everyone know that it’s full of food I made with my own blender/two hands, and that I only bought the jar so that I could reuse it. But that’s just me.

Honey, I’m sorry you are sick!
It was really great to meet you at BlogHer, even if it was only for a second.

Ah yes, that gasp. Yikes. I’m still hurting from the multiple times my little guy bit me. I think I even bled a little. I so hope he gets out of this stage. Quickly.
