a historic day (night?)

Last night, he slept 11 hours straight. No waking. Not a peep.

I’m in shock. 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

I was grinning like an idiot during his entire morning feeding. Scott passed the doorway of the nursery, saw my face. “Do you need something?” “Nope.” Smiled even bigger. This is NOT how I normally look and feel at 5:30 a.m.

He even napped twice today. Go figure.

He also is finally cutting a tooth. I think it’s only one tooth. I can feel the sharp serrated edge of it poking through his lower gums. He enjoyed the sensation intermittently all day, engaged in his new shrieking skill to let me know just how much. I put one of his cubes of frozen carrot puree in the mesh bag feeder, which gave him some relief and covered us both in carrot bits.

And then, to add insult to injury, today he had a pediatrician appointment and had to get his HiB vaccine. But he only protested a tiny bit. The ped bragged on him to the nurses in the office about how good he is at getting shots. We do it while he’s nursing. He stops for a second or two to complain right after, and then resumes the suck-suck. Albeit a little angrily.

And everyone admired his beautiful blue eyes.

Yay for Jonah! Don’t mean to rain on your parade, but don’t make the mistake I’ve made and expect a repeat performance every night:) We love our mesh feeder too but (more assvice coming) don’t put frozen blueberries in it, give it to baby and put both in the carseat. Unless you REALLY want to do laundry, and take apart the whole carseat in the process. sigh.

Enjoy! One day this will be the norm, not the exception. (Maybe not this summer though)

Hooray! My almost 2 year old has NEVER done that. Jonah needs to come down to the south bay and give him some encouraging words.
