My friend comes over to visit with her two-month old. My friend is about 5 feet tall and 90 pounds (I exaggerate). Her baby is big. So big. Like a koala bear. Her baby looks bigger than her.
My baby is so tiny.
(I like my tiny baby.)
My boob is three times the size of my little baby’s head.
We sit side by side on my bed and chat and nurse our babies together.

The lactation consultant has a sweet, almost too sweet, sing song voice. She announces, a propos of nothing, “Formula fed babies sleep deeper and longer than breast fed babies.”
I didn’t know that.
She laughs, “That makes breastfeeding a hard sell.”
Ummm… yeah.
