Again with the weeks between posts. What is going on???
Excuse, the first: I’ve been working.
As a professional writer/editor, I find that my blogging mojo gets zapped when I am using my powers for good in other areas. Been working on brochures, websites, donor appeal letters, newsletters, magazines, and online dating profiles. But not . . . → Read More: joy, pain, sunshine, (no) rain
Expect lulls in this space. The book editing project is bigger than I’d imagined. What had I imagined? Oh a few hours here and there, tra la la. Ummmm… no. Watch as my stoned-on-oxytocin mommy brain is catapulted through the looking glass into the work world. Ouch.
Letting the days go by? Hardly. Working my butt off, in two directions is more like it.
Physical butt: Been to three yoga classes this week (mom/baby variety), planning to hit the fourth tomorrow. Plus I even went back to my old improv practice group.
I had originally thought the WAHM thing was an advantage. Make my own hours, not be far from the babe. But as many readers pointed out, trying to get work done at home, with a baby, may precisely be the problem.

I got my first post-baby work assignment today. A client I’ve had for years, who contacts me each season to write articles for a quarterly newsletter. Usually about 10-12 hours of work over two weeks, involving several phone calls, a few interviews on the phone and at least one site visit.
