Hello, my dear readers. I have the great honor of guest posting over at DaMomma.com. Visit me there, if you like. Also known as: In which I totally prove how NOT calm I really am. So, today, we’re at this cafe/playspace. Wait, let me back up. So, this morning, Jonah wakes up screaming at 4:30 a.m. I go in, he’s soaked through his diaper, his pajamas. I take the offending items off him. The diaper weighs . . . → Read More: in which another mother totally reads me the riot act So far, we’d seen him take two steps completely unassisted, maybe twice. This morning he spontaneously took four steps during mom-toddler yoga class. Appropriately, he waited until everyone was looking at him — just after snack and songs — to stand up and go. Not a two hour stint of POSITIVELY INCONSOLABLE CRYING. The thing about being the parent of . . . → Read More: taking it in the tooth (two steps forward, one back) Unlike his mother. Nanny reports that this morning at the play-place they attended, when he pushed passed her to get from one place to another, he said “excuse me.” Of course it came out more like A-scuuze Me. He quite frequently says Thank You, whether you are handing something to him, or he to you. . . . → Read More: at least *he* has manners Ever since Kara suggested I have the “Pokiboh” shirt made (and thanks to President Bill’s immediate response to my inquiry at Temporarylanguage.com, there’s now an accompanying image) I’ve been wanting to make a list of Jonah’s recent creative pronunciations of things. (Update: just ordered Pokiboh shirt. Discount coupon available here.) And then I sit down . . . → Read More: in his own words |
