He woke up this morning, did a little nursing, looked me in the eye and said, “Cow.” Not accusing me of being one, just letting me know he knows the word. He said it several more times. Announcements, “Cow… cow.”
Scott ran a little test, showing the boy pictures of cows and then pictures of cats. Because up to now, the boy has been clear on cats, and then has called many other animals “Ca” — although lately he’s been adding a gutteral almost t-like sound to the end of it.
He distinctly called one cat and the other cow, and correctly each time.
Later this morning I said “Cow,” and then “mooooooo.”
He thought this was hilarious.
He’s also mostly, but not always, saying “Hoo, hoo” whenever an owl shows up in one of his picture or storybooks.
I know, he’s a genus.
